Homebrewer goes commercial

One of the things we love to see is homebrewers using the skills they’ve honed with devkitPro toolchains to enter the commercial market. The most recent programmer to take the next step is Lacey who you might know if you visit the Blitzed dev channels on a regular basis.

His company, Tin Man Games, has just released their first iPhone/iPod Touch title so why not help him make his mark in the industry by grabbing Frootrees from the iTunes store now? It looks like a great little game and the £0.59/$0.99 price point is an absolute steal.

akkit.org optimisation competition

Sgstair has recently announced a new competition for budding hackers to show off their optimisation skills. The object of the exercise is to write code to produce a speedy Mandlebrot set generator on the DS so, if you think you’re up for the challenge, head over to the akkit competition page.

DS Organise fund raising drive.

Those of you who have been around the DS homebrew scene for a while will be familiar with a rather nice application called DS Organise written by a homebrewer who goes by the name of Dragonminded. Recently his main development machine failed and he’s had to dip into his college fund to replace it so he can continue work on one of the most popular applications around.

If you have some spare change in Paypal please consider making a donation to help keep DSO alive. DragonMinded has put a lot of work in to make it what it is today and deserves some consideration in his time of need.

Visit his blog at http://dragonminded.blogspot.com/ to make your donation today.
